Food Pantry in Hilo
A food pantry that meets the whole need, not just hunger
On Hawaiʻi Island, a family short on rent is usually short on dinner, too — and on soap, school clothes, and the basics that keep a household running. COTA Foundation's Hilo food pantry doesn't hand over a single box and stop there. Through our Community Essentials Program we provide hot meals, groceries, hygiene kits, and household essentials together, in one place, from neighbors who don't ask anyone to prove how hard things are.
We serve Hilo and communities across Hawaiʻi Island. Whether you need dinner this week or ongoing grocery support, start with one form and we'll take it from there.

What we provide
Meals, groceries, and the essentials around them
Food is the start. We pair it with the supplies a household actually needs to stay afloat.
- Hot, ready-to-eat meals served weekly with dignity — no paperwork at the table.
- Groceries and pantry staples — rice, canned goods, produce, and dry goods when available.
- Hygiene kits with soap, toothbrushes, shampoo, feminine products, and diapers.
- Household essentials such as cleaning supplies and basic home goods.
- Mobile food outreach bringing meals and groceries to beach parks and families without transportation.
